The body of a 5-year-old boy reported missing in the RM of Hudson Bay on Friday was found on Saturday afternoon.
RCMP said in a news release late Friday night that Dawson Romeo — described as non-verbal and autistic — was last seen at approximately 7: 15 p.m. on Friday, walking west from a home approximately 5 km southwest of Hudson Bay. The closest intersection is Township Road 450 and Range Road 2041, police said.
RCMP said in a release on Saturday afternoon that Romeo’s body was found near the area he was last seen on July 29. His family were notified and police said that initial investigation determined his death is not suspicious.
Hudson Bay RCMP also thanked the community groups, organizations and local residents that assisted in the search.
• The boy’s photograph published with an earlier version of this story has been removed at the request of RCMP.
