Canada’s Adam Svensson claims first PGA Tour victory at RSM Classic

Canadian Adam Svensson won his first PGA Tour event on Sunday when he claimed the RSM Classic by two strokes at St. Simons Island, Ga.

Svensson, from Surrey, B.C., had six birdies and no bogeys on his card at the end of the final round on Sunday, to edge Callum Tarren, Sahith Theegala, and Brian Harman by two strokes.

Prior to Sunday Svensson had finished in the Top 25 just once in six PGA Tour events this year. The win came in his 70th start on the tour.

“It’s not even real right now,” Svensson in a TV interview immediately after the victory. “I just put so much work in.”

More to come.
